Image Quality plays a bigger role in optimizing and delivering images online. High-quality images have larger file sizes and hence can slow down your website.
Finding the right balance between image quality and file size is essential for optimal website delivery and loading speeds.
At Pixpa, we apply a default image quality setting that balances image clarity and website performance. Any changes made to this setting will be applied to all images on the website, including those uploaded before the change.
Pixpa gives you full control over specifying your own image quality settings.
Change the Image Quality settings:
- Enter image settings (1) in the Search Bar.
- From the related results, click on the Image Settings option (2) under Studio Links.
In Image Settings (1), you would see the Image Quality (2) settings on the right side. You can choose your desired Image quality from the drop-down as shown in the image below.
- Faster – Images will have higher compression compared to the other options. Pages will load faster and image file sizes will be smaller.
- Balanced – Images will have moderate compression with a balance between image quality and loading speed. Pages will load efficiently while maintaining good image clarity.
- Recommended – Images will have lower compression and improved image clarity. This option offers a balanced viewing experience with good quality and performance.
- Best – Images will have the least compression compared to the other options. Pages may load slower and image file sizes will be larger.
Finally, save (3) your settings.
Pixpa recommends using the Web Optimized option for optimum quality and loading time.
For optimal performance in any browser, we recommend 500 images in a gallery; beyond that performance will start to degrade due to local browser memory.
In the case of Client Galleries, image quality settings are not applied to original images of the clients. We create multiple image versions from the original images to showcase them on the website and mobile where image quality settings are used.
