Connect domain from Bluehost

To connect your domain name registered on Bluehost, follow these steps:

1. Go to the Bluehost website and click on the Login button on the right top. Enter your username and password to Sign In to your account.

2. Click on the Zone editor tab under the Domain section. You would see all your purchased domains here. Now find the domain that you want to connect to the Pixpa website and select it.

3. Here you would see all the DNS records. You need to create a www CNAME record.

Enter www (as Host Record), 14400 (as TTL), CNAME (as Type), domains.pixpa.com (as Points to), and click on Add Record tab.

Do not replace the CNAME value with your domain name. Points to value would be “domains.pixpa.com” as it is.

5. Now you need to add a domain redirect. Click on the Redirect tab under the domain section. Select Permanent (301) and select your domain.

Example: If your domain name is “amrishmugal.in” then type “http://www.amrishmudgal.in” in the redirects to field as shown below.

Now, make a Go Live Request in the Studio

Once you have completed the above steps, you can then submit a Go Live request now.

  • Go to the Pixpa dashboard.
  • Search for ‘domain’ and click on the first search result.

You’ll reach the Site Domain Name page.

Enter your domain name with “http://www” prefix as http://www.amrishmudgal.in in Connect your Domain Name section as shown in the image below.

Here amrishmudgal.in a domain name is an example in this help article. Request you to replace it with your domain name.

Correct Go-live URL

Do not use any forward-slash (/) after the domain name during Go-LIve request. It would be just the “http://www” prefix to your domain name.

  • http://www.amrishmudgal.in/ – Incorrect URL for Go-live request
  • http://amrishmudgal.in – Incorrect URL for Go-live request
  • http://amrishmudgal.in/ – Incorrect URL for Go-live request
  • http://www.amrishmudgal.in – Correct URL for Go-live request

Notes

1. Before you point your existing domain name to your Pixpa website, make sure that you have taken a backup of whatever is important from your current hosting provider.
