Adding hefty products

While you create the product(s), specify the weight of the product in the weight field provided and the size of the product in the description box or if you create product options, you can enter the sizes as options.

These values will be useful to calculate the shipping rate while you add the shipping options.

Add this information to the description box (on the product edit page): 

  1. The product weight. (as it displays on the product page.)
  2. The shipping and returns policy for hefty products.
  3. The time needed for the product delivery.
  4. Customizations that you can offer for the product.

 

  • Take any inputs for the product/order from the Notes to the seller field present on the checkout page.

Offering the best shipping options

With the new full-featured shipping system, Pixpa allows you to easily handle the shipping rates for hefty products too.

  1. The best way to deal with hefty products is to offer the store pickup shipping option so that the customer directly picks up the order.
  2. Sell hefty products in your local area or to nearby areas only. You can then opt to deliver the product yourself or use a local shipping service. In this case, create a flat rate shipping or shipping based on order weight.
  3. Enquire the shipping charges of the courier service provider and add the shipping rates accordingly (you can use the flat rate shipping or shipping based on order weight).

Create a Shipping and Return policy

Sharing your store policies with your customers is an essential thing. In case you sell hefty products, the shipping and return policy plays an important role.

In this policy, remember to specify: 

  • Conditions under which you will accept returns.
  • Is the return shipping free of cost?
  • In case of store pickup, specify the timeframe before which the customer can pick up his/her order.
  • In case the customer is not available to collect his/her order, will the package be kept at the doorstep or will it be returned to your store?
