Edit my template – Aperture

Aperture is a great choice for a graphic designer portfolio.

This template features a folder listing page as the homepage, which contains thumbnails of galleries under the folder. Clicking on any of them would take a visitor to the respective gallery.

Apart from the header and footer, there are a few thumbnail images on this page. Follow the steps below to edit each of them.

  1. Header
  2. Projects – Folder
  3. Prefooter
  4. Footer

The header contains the logo/site title (1), menu (2), and social icons (3).

The homepage, which is a folder listing page, is named ‘Projects’.


Visit the Homepage

  • Go to the Site Menu.
  • Hover on the Projects menu item, click on the three vertical dots icon (1), and select the Settings option (2) to edit it(as shown in the image).

  • This will bring you to the settings of the ‘Projects’ folder.

Home – Folder

  • The images displayed on the folder listing page are the thumbnail images of the galleries under the folder. The first image in this gallery is displayed as a thumbnail on the folder listing page.
  • To add your own images or replace the demo images with your own, go to any of the galleries. To view the galleries under the folder, click on the arrow (1) next to it.
  • Now, click on the Graphic Design gallery (2).

  • This will bring you to the gallery editor.
  • To add images, click on the Add Media button.

  • You can also change the thumbnail to an image of your choice. To change the thumbnail image of any gallery, go to the Settings (1) tab.
  • Then, click on the Upload (2) button under Featured Image.

Note: If there is no thumbnail image, the system will display the first image in the gallery as a thumbnail on the folder listing page.

  • Below that, you can edit the Headline (3) and Description (4) of the gallery.


Add menu items into the folder

  • To add a new page/gallery/any menu item to the folder, go to the Website section and click on the folder (1).
  • Next up, click on the + Add Menu Item to Folder (2) button.
  • You would see an ADD MENU ITEM (3) drawer, select and click on any menu item you wish to add.

Folder Settings

You can manage the title, visibility, and other settings of the homepage (folder listing page) from folder settings. You can also choose how the folder shows up on your website i.e., as a dropdown or a listing page. Know more.

To manage the folder settings, follow these steps: 

  • Click on the three-dots icon (1) next to the ‘Projects’ folder and select Settings (2).
  • On the right side, you can view all the folder settings.

Folder Design

You can change the layout and manage the design settings of the homepage (folder listing page) from the Design tab. To do so, follow these steps:

  • Click on the three-dots icon (1) next to the ‘Projects’ folder and select Settings (2).
  • Then, click on the Design (3) tab.

  • It will open up the folder design drawer on the right-hand side. Click on the Change Layout button to change the layout of the homepage.
  • You can manage the grid spacing, folder width, grid labels, breadcrumb navigation, and many other design settings from here.

Folder Banner

You can manage the banner of the homepage (folder listing page) from the Banner tab. To do so, follow these steps:

  • Click on the three-dots icon (1) next to the ‘Projects’ folder and select Settings (2).
  • Then, click on the Banner (3) tab.

  • It will open up the folder banner drawer on the right-hand side. Make the banner active (1), and click on the Add Slides (2) button to add your image/video/text slides.
  • Edit the Banner Text (3) to change the text on the banner.

Prefooter

  • To display a certain section (e.g. Instagram feed) at the bottom of all the pages or selected pages on your website, you can use a prefooter.
  • To edit the prefooter, go back to the Site Menu and click on Options (1). Then, click on Prefooter (2).

  • In this theme, there is an Instagram section in the prefooter.
  • To manage how the feed is displayed, click on the Manage Instagram button.

The footer contains the credits for your websites. You can add social icons (1), copyright text (2), and important links here.

Note: You would see our branding ‘Built on Pixpa’ (3) in the footer while you are on the trial period. Once you’ve subscribed, you can choose to have it removed.
