Add SEO metadata for your website, gallery and page

For your website to be indexed and ranked by search engines, you need to optimize your website. The most important step in this process is to add relevant metadata (Title, Keywords, and Description) for your website that search engines will read and index your website.

The SEO metadata can be easily defined for your website in Pixpa.

To add SEO metadata for website

Here you can enter the relevant SEO metadata for your website. This data is used globally for your website across all the content items. You can specify unique SEO metadata for any content item individually from its settings section, to override this global SEO metadata.

  1. Index website in search engine – It means we’ll automatically index your website/portfolio in the search engine, if you don’t want to index your website in the search engine, you can click on the Disallow button to hide your website/portfolio from the search engine.
  2. Preview – Google Search preview with your added SEO metadata.
  3. Title – 
  4. Description – This would be shown by search engines for your website in the search results along with the title. It should be 150-160 characters.


To add SEO metadata for individual gallery

  • Go to the Website section
  • Move your cursor to a particular gallery, you would see the three dots icon (2) next to its name. Click on it. You would see the Settings (3) tab in the list, click on it.


  • After clicking on the Settings tab, scroll down and you would see the Search Engine Optimization (SEO) section for that particular gallery.
  • Add here your Page Title (3), Description (4), and after seeing a preview on Google Search result preview (5) click on Save (6) button at the top right of the screen.
  • You can edit your gallery URL with Page URL (1) section as well as also hide this gallery from the search engine by clicking on Hide this page from search engines (2).


To add SEO metadata for Folder

  • Go to the Website section
  • Find the Folder you want to work on from the navigation left column.
  • Move your cursor to a particular folder, you would see the three dots icon (1) next to its name. Click on it. You would see the Settings (2) tab.
  • Clicking on the Settings tab, after scroll down you would see the Search Engine Optimization (SEO) section for that particular folder.
  • Add here your Page Title (4), Description (5), and after seeing a preview on Google Search result preview (7) click on Save (8) button at the top right of the screen.
  • You can edit your gallery URL with Page URL (3) section as well as also hide this gallery from the search engine by clicking on Hide this page from search engines (4).


To add SEO metadata for pages or Coverpage

  • Go to the Website section
  • Find the Page or Cover Page you want to work on from the navigation left column.
  • Move your cursor to a particular page or cover page, you would see the three dots icon (1) next to its name. Click on it. You would see the Settings tab in the list.
  • Clicking on the Settings (2) tab, you’ll be redirected to a new page.


  • After clicking on the setting you’ll redirect to this page as shown in the below image. Then click on More and then choose Settings (1) from the list.


  • After that, Edit Settings section appears on your half left side screen, after scrolling down you would see the Search Engine Optimization (SEO) section for that particular page or cover page.
  • Add here your Page Title (5), Description (6), and after seeing a preview on Google Search result preview (4) click on Save button at the top right of the screen.
  • You can edit your gallery URL with Page URL (2) section as well as also hide this gallery from the search engine by clicking on Hide this page from search engines (3).


To add SEO metadata for Guestbook, Contact Us, Calendar Page

  • Go to the Website section
  • Find the GuestBook, Contact Us or Calendar Page you want to work on from the navigation left column.
  • Move your cursor to a particular page, you would see the three dots icon (2) next to its name. Click on it. You would see the Settings tab.
  • Clicking on the Settings (3) tab, you’ll be redirected to a new page.


  • After clicking on the settings menu, scroll down you would see the Search Engine Optimization (SEO) section for that particular page.
  • Add here your Page Title (3), Description (4), and after seeing a preview on Google Search result preview (5) click on Save (6) button at the top right of the screen.
  • You can edit your gallery URL with Page URL (1) section as well as also hide this gallery from the search engine by clicking on Hide this page from search engines (2).


To add SEO metadata for Store

  • Go to the Ecommerce (1) section
  • Click on the Settings (2) option shows in the Store menu.
  • Scroll down the store settings section, at last update Page Title (3) and Page Description (4) of your store, after review on Google search result preview (6), click on Save (7) at the top right of the screen.
  • You can also hide this store from the search engine by clicking on the Hide this page from search engine (3).


To add SEO metadata from Store Categories

  • Go to the Ecommerce (1) section
  • Click on the Categories (2) option shows in the Store menu.
  • All the categories are shown in the Categories Name section, after that click on the setting (3) button in which category you want to make changes.
  • A list menu shows, click on the Edit (4) option.


  • A new section opens on the right side, after scrolling down you would see the Search Engine Optimization (SEO) section for that particular category.
  • Add here your Page Title (3), Description (4), and after seeing a preview on Google Search result preview (5) click on Save (6) button at the top right of the screen.
  • You can edit your store category URL with Page URL (1) section as well as also hide this store category from the search engine by clicking on Hide this page from search engines (2).


To add SEO metadata for Store Products

  • Go to the Website section
  • Scroll down in the navigation left column (site menu), you would see the three dots icon (2) on the Store name on the right side. Click on it. You would see the View Products (3), click on it.


  • After clicking on View Products, you’ll redirect to a new page as shown below.
  • Click on the setting icon (1) shown at the right side of the product and then click on Edit (2).


  • After clicking on the Edit, scroll down you would see the Search Engine Optimization (SEO) section for that particular product.
  • Add here your Page Title (3), Description (4), and after seeing a preview on Google Search result preview (5) click on Save (6) button at the top right of the screen.
  • You can edit your product URL with Page URL (2) section as well as also hide this product from the search engine by clicking on Hide this page from search engines (2).


To add SEO metadata for Client Albums

  • Go to the Client Galleries section
  • Click on the Albums (2), after that select the Album in which you want to add SEO metadata, you would see the three dots icon (3) next to its name click on it. You would see the Albums Settings (4) tab from the list, click on it.


  • After clicking on the Album settings, you will be redirected to the new page, hereafter scrolling down you would see the Search Engine Optimization (SEO) section for that particular Album section.
  • Add here your Page Title (3), Description (4), and after seeing a preview on Google Search result preview (5) click on Save (6) button at the top right of the screen.
  • You can edit your album URL with Page URL (1) section as well as also hide this album from the search engine by clicking on Hide this page from search engines (2).


To add SEO metadata for Client Galleries

  • Go to the Client Galleries section
  • Click on the Albums (2), after that select the Album in which you want to add SEO metadata, you would see the three dots icon (3) next to its name. Click on it. You would see the Manage Galleries (4) tab from the list, click on it.


  • After clicking on the Manage Galleries, you will be redirected to the new page, hereafter on the left side click on the Galleries tab and then after click on the Settings (1) on the right side of screen and then scroll down, you would see the Search Engine Optimization (SEO) section for that particular galleries section.
  • Add here your Page Title (4), Description (5), and after seeing a preview on Google Search result preview (6) click on Save (7) button at the top right of the screen.
  • You can edit your album URL with Page URL (2) section as well as also hide this album from the search engine by clicking on Hide this page from search engines (3).


To add SEO metadata for Client Spotlight Page

  • Go to the Client Galleries section
  • Click on the Client Spotlight Page (2) on the left side menu in client galleries.
  • After that, select the Settings tab (if not selected) and scroll down, you would see the Search Engine Optimization (SEO) section for the client spotlight page section.
  • Add here your Page Title (4), Description (5), and after seeing a preview on Google Search result preview (6) click on Save (7) button at the top right of the screen.
  • You can hide this album from the search engine by clicking on Hide this page from search engines (3).


Note: Irrespective of your website metadata, Google may also change your page titles and descriptions (or “snippets”) in their search results based on entirely an automated process of deciding what they think your site/page is all about and what Google’s system thinks best represents that page’s thematic focus. You can read the official explanation here.
